Need Help w/NX 2k
If there is anyone in my general area of Akron Ohio, I could really us a hand with this NX 2K of mine.... I am new to Nissan's

I am a good R&R mechanic but I suck at diagnostics. I have researched till my eyes go blurry from reading and done everything I can do without resorting to the buy a new part to eliminate it as the issue routine.

Ok first off I purchased the car not running/ running properly. I was able to get it started by holding it WOT. once running I started pulling plug wires and low and behold #1 was not firing. Digging in I found the injector to be faulty and replaced it. it still has some trouble starting but once running all cylinders are firing. Sparks looks very good. Now it will idle fine but the moment you give it throttle it wants to studder and die unless you go real slow and seems fine once you get the rpms up but then wants to sputter at higher rpms when under a load. It does this hot or cold. I don't have a fuel pressure gauge and I need to get this car on the road so I can get back to work as I am not working right now due to lack of transportation.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Check List:

TPS sensor, Cam Timing, Base timing, and Idle. You'll need a Timing light and a Voltage meter to do some of it but thats should help you get around some of the issues. Also you might want to try to reground your maf. thats about all i can think of. Also just make sure all your sensor are plugged in correctly. I've forgotten to plug to many in which cost me hours of trouble shooting.

I went through the whole egr thing too it seems to be ok and the car started to die at idle when I applied vacuum to the egr. I ran the car to warm it up and then shut it down and unplugged the TPS so I could chek the timing but I can't get the car to start at all with the TPS unpugged.... I think I have a bad battery too so I just went and got a new one. I will go through the rest as suggested I think I might pull the TPS and take it in to have it checked out. As for the MAF I have read the regrounding article but I am kinda afraid to do it myself that I might fudge it up. (yea I know, I need to be more confident)
Thank you for all the help and input and I will keep you posted

sounds like it could be a bad maf. Have you run ECU codes to see what codes it's throwing. I'd start there.

EDIT-- Can you rev over 2500 RPM? Generally if its a bad maf you won't be able to rev over 2.5k.

I just have to slowly apply throttle then at about 4 it starts popping or back firing, I did put another MAF in (I have an extra) and after looking just a min ago the MAF has already been regrounded Could a garage have maybe done that because the car was a one owner before me and it was an older lady.

Ok, I checked the EGR while the car was running by putting my hand under to feel the diaphram and there is absolutely no movement of the EGR when revving the engine, if I operate the EGR by hand the car tries to die out...........

Edit:

After further research I think it is an ignition issue. Looking at the plugs they are black like too much fuel or not enough or hot enough spark. The car acts like it has a 3-4k rev limiter. So considering I can save 50% through a friend in OK I called him and ordered new Dist cap, rotor, wires, coil, and plugs (it had Bosch plat plus, I ordered NGK's) and I will work from there once the parts come in..........Existing parts don't look too bad but looks can be deceiving.....

Any other suggestions as far as ignition goes?

What part of Akron? I am kinda by the dealership. If you want help let me know I will do what I can.

My first guess since it revs over 3k would just be the plugs and maybe the dist. Could be a vac leak though too.

I live in the portage lakes area by portage lakes dr and turkeyfoot rd.

Any help would be great as two heads are better than one and I know it is harder to help someone with out actually seeing or hearing the vehicle.
