Thread: nx with ms design bumper

well, got my ms designs front lip on the other day, looks great! thanks Borngearhead! but has there ever been a blue nx with this lip documented? ive wanted to do the car blurple for a while, but now im wondering if it will work with this lip. any opinions? ill get pics up soon, im just in arizona right now, wont be able to take any pics till the 3rd.

haha, i know......i work 2 jobs. car is just chilling right now. maco is having a nice half off on their amabasador paint job, i just have to fix one of my fenders. i suck at the whole pic thing.

Dont go to maco unless you are buying one of their better more expensive paint jobs. I dont recommend going at all, but if they use quality supplies you may actually end up with a decent paint job that could last more than a year. If you get their el chepo paint job it will look good from 100feet away and thats all, and it will most likely chip bubble and flake off within a year.

Put it this way i think i spent 250+ dollars on tape alone on my paint job, the paint was 180.00 per qt i used 6 qts, so when they offer a paint job for $500 dollars or something rediculous you have to wonder what type of prep work and supplies thay are using. I am not saying you have to go out and spend $5000.00+ and have show quality paint, But just dont get the cheapest thing they offer.

i got my car painted and macco and that **** looks bad ass. i spend 744 dollers. got the UV ray clear coat got the sand and prep work job and the 3rd best paint job there. also got 2 dents tooken out.. looks flawless

yeah, ive painted cars before.....what ive seen is quiet decent. i think the major problem is the "maco" jobs your refering to are the single stage urethane....i think im saying that right. anyway, the one im thinking about is half off right now.....its got a 2 year warranty, and ive seen some cars the shop has sprayed, they look GREAT. AND a guy i work with had his camaro done a year or so ago, and IT looks GREAT. you just have to do your research on the individual shops. some are good, some are bad. it depends what painter you get that day. i MIGHT just do a satin color....i dunno right now. i might have some time this week to get some work done.....ive been mainly looking for slicks.

i guess i do need to get some pics up of my rat, so people can see what im working with.

What color did you have it painted? It all depends on what color they are painting. Anyone can make black look decent, but alot of other colors arent so easy.

I wasnt saying maco is complete junk but when all they care about is how fast they can get cars in and out they really dont spend the time prepping things the way they should be done. From what i have seen they just bondo over rust do a poor job taping and the paint tends to bubble and peel. If you do get one of their better paint jobs it can turn out pretty good. One of my friends used to work at maco for a few years before he started his own business, and he can paint very well. Just make sure you get the better paint with a warranty.


I am not trying to rip on them too bad. They can do good work though most of the time they dont. I just cant see going really cheap on the outside of the car. Unless you are going for a sleeper look and want a crappy looking exterior.

I mean most of us spend 3-30x $700 dollars on performance parts, so why cheap out on the body. I guess i am just speaking from the way we did everything on my car, we spent alot of time to make sure it was done right and will last a long time. I dont want to have to deal with rust or body work for a long time on my nx.

well, yeah, id NEVER have anyone do my body work. i always do that myself. thats why my car looks like such a rat right now.

well as long as you are doing the body work you should be fine, then if its prepped poorly you can only blame yourself.

They should be able to make it look damn nice if they are just spraying it. Oh yeah do you have any pics with the new front on?
