Raising the latch will let it popup high enough to close the front doors w/o sucking down the lid...

You could purchase an electric popper for the trunk, but it will probably take 2 of them (one on each side)... Then you will need a way to activate the thing... If you have a remote alarm w/trunk feature, that would work for activation great!

Coming soon. If I keep this NX I am going to do this.

On a side note i was having the same problem with mine not wanting to pop open, i fixed my lock by bending the clip that holds it in place so it holds the lock good and flush. My clip wasnt even attached when i took the rear end appart it was laying in the bottom of the spare tire well.

Also any weight reduction seems to help with the hatch problem, i shaved the wiper when i painted the car and it lightened the hatch a bit. It doesnt seem to fall down anymore, and pops great after doing the lock clip and removing the wiper and motor.

hey guys........after fixing many a car with this issue INCORRECTLY under warranty i have found that the popping action has nothing to do with the hatch struts. 99.99999999999999999999999% of the time there is a spring loaded part inside the latch its self that does the popping. try spraying down the latch with some good penetrating lube.

I am going to do a Lexan (polycarbonate) back window...that will help tremendously I'm sure!
