Trouble is, nobody wants to do rust repair on an inexpensive Japanese car. Thin metal makes the rust repairs more difficult for one thing. I repaired a Honda Accord last year for a friend of mine, it looked like minor rust but everything underneath was paper thin, so there was nothing to weld to. Never again! I wasted three days on what should have been a 1/2 day job.
Restoration guys will put a 1/4 panel on a classic musclecar, but they'll charge you a ton.
Body shops generally only want to do crash repair work.
I used to work for a shop where all I did was rust repair, but the shop pretty much only did higher-end restorations on cars that had no aftermarket support (oddball 1920's cars for example). I got sick of it real fast.
Anyway, good luck getting the car fixed!
