I assume you mean the GM sensor like on nismotronic.com since the b13 didn't have intake sensor? Ok, maybe I could try one of those all brass ones from rockauto. Might hold up to the heat perhaps? Cheap enough to give it a shot I guess

You best bet is to run an EGT probe into a thermocoupler amplifier, from there it will convert the signal into an usable 0-5v reading that can easily be wired into the break out box.
Need a tune? Contact me, I offer Dyno, Street, Remote, E-Tunes and base maps. I work with Calum, Nistune, Nismotronic, AEM, Haltech, Crome, Hondata, E-Manage, TunerPro and can work in other programs as needed. I can also burn chips and ship them as needed. ETPerformance772@gmail.com or PM

I'll check that out, but I know these do..... so theoretically I could use this type of sensor to that plug and get temp reading?
no, a k-type thermocouple is based on the current difference between 2 metals (the actual wires, fused into a bead at the tip). its not like 2 flaps of metal and some copper wire... the sensor itself IS the wire. plugging it into the factory harness simply will not work as you are now changing the base metals of the probe, and any reading you get will be incorrect as a result. Running it into nismotronic without the adc box will give you pretty much nothing. The options do not let you set it up as an egt and you need to use the break out box so you can set a custom gauge or logging.
Yeah I figured it wouldn't be that easy lol. Wish I could just use the original sensor but I imagine the same issue of incorrect reading would result as well.
I am correct in assuming the GM sensor on nismotronic website for intake temp can be spliced to that plug and used to accept intake temperatures though? If so I was just hoping there was an exhaust manifold friendly sensor that could be used in the same fashion. I do have a display I've made to work with the type K probe that gives me the temp so I guess if I decide I want to log it, I'll have to go to the adc box. Just want to make use of that extra egt input on the Ecu which I guess would be the IAT via the GM sensor as the only option...

Yeah, figures. So is the reading from that sensor in voltage form or can you display the reading from it in a temperature value? Figure if I can get the temperature value I can use it to mess around with things to help bring down intake temps until I switched to map which is it's grand purpose. I'll have to grab one of those sensors either way I suppose

it reads as a temp because nismotronic will convert the voltage to temp for you. only when you setup a custom sensor would it read a raw voltage, which you then setup a scale to to output a number (psi, ethanol content, temp, etc)

Resistance is what changes the current. Different thermocouplers use different metals to have different ranges.

91 NX SR20VET : Upgrading (not VE-T, blew up 5 speed) Now a working 6 speed. 93 NX : Summer DD Will get a P12 SR20VE(someday)
NOT in NY, Living the AZ life working at LUCID MOTORS.
Yeah and I have no way of knowing what resistance equals what temp value on a custom sensor. I guess maybe if I went though the work to get that reading and knew it was exact I could set something up but I'll just use my own Display I made for the type K probe for exhaust temps and use the Ecu input with the GM sensor for intake temps for now.
