Thread: pegging out my n62 maf, any way around it?!?

Seems as though my maf is pegged out exactly at 18psi and I'm running out of fuel map as I've reached the end of it. Is there anyway to manipulate the maf and/or tune in order to buy me more fuel map and not peg? For example my map ends at 240, anyway to have that extended to Try higher number while on the same exact maf...? If I missed anything @se200 please chime in

Change the table value to a higher value? You can extend your maps this way. What maf voltage are you seeing? Sounds like a simple click will fix this on your fuel table.

I'm not sure if that will work as my maf voltage hits 5.01. Of course the ecu sees the maf is maxed out and I hit fuel cut, as well as other types of cuts also......

One last possibility would be to switch from blow-thru MAF setup to draw-thru, if you aren't already running that.

If the sensor voltage is maxed out, you're gonna have to get one with a wider range. I would suggest a GM 3-bar MAP sensor with a GM IAT sensor, and switch to a speed density tune. The price/performance is unbeatable!

I saw an option on the maf settings to change the maximum maf voltage....would that buy me a little room until I make necessary changes.....?

No. 5v is max what the maf supply voltage can deliver. Time to upgrade bro!

Sorry, but the MAF is hardcoded to 5.12V in NEMU, anything more than that and it just cuts it back to the last point in the table.

The other way around it without going either either a larger MAF/Housing or Speed Density would be to use the MAF factor to rescale how much "weight" per unit each cell in the fuel table has.

The higher your MAF factor (NOT MAF LOAD FACTOR IN THE VQ TABLE SECTION), the MORE fuel value each unit in the fuel table will have.

Take your current tune for example. If you raise your MAF factor from it's current value to something say 10% higher, this will increase your calculated pulsewidth even if the table values are 100% the same.

So raise the MAF factor for more RANGE in the fuel table if you need it.

Bottom line is, if MAF voltage gets to 5V, you need a larger MAF sensor, or convert to speed-density with MAP and IAT sensors. There's nothing in the tune you can do to meter the incoming air and control IPW once MAF voltage reaches 5V.
