Nismotronic protocol?
I'm jumping the gun a bit since I don't have one of these ECUs yet, but I'm wondering if there is any information available on the communications protocol used to send output to displays like the TunerView?
The reason I ask, I'm exploring the possibility of tapping into this output and doing my own gauge panel. I really don't like the TunerView offerings, and may be looking at cooking up something that would better fit my needs. Good chance I won't do this too, but it's good to explore options.
Basically, what I'd be looking at doing is parsing this output with an Arduino or Raspberry PI, and run a display from one of those to be my new gauge panel. In color, with whatever I wanted to be looking at, and possibly having the display change as needed to show important things outside of a given threshold while driving, and hide normal values from the driver's view.
The application here would be for a racecar, so fitting things to a standard gauge cluster isn't a factor, but readability while driving at speed is.
