Thread: anybody running PTE (precision) 1000 injectors on their nemu?

I have been working on this with him. its very odd. the car will idle great and respond well to changes. The o2 voltage for wideband and closed loop match and will stay in the mid 2.5ish area....... then after turning the car off and restarting it the o2 voltage jumps to 5v and the idle surges lean to rich. No only that but we keep losing data/updates and the software will freeze or crash. Non of this was an issue until he transitioned from pte 1000cc inj to id1000cc inj.

He asked to close the thread because some one attempted to solicit funds from him for a base tune...... this is a community of car ppl and he was asking for input not a full plug and play tune. We will be working on this all weekend and hope to update with good news. Thanks.

Wait, what?!?! Why would anyone attempt that considering that NEMU already comes with several base maps already installed with the NISMOTRONIC software??

You got me man but it seems ppl will try to squeeze money out of anything they can. We are going to switch computers and reload the software to see if that helps due to what seems to be a very buggy interface between the nemu and tuning software, it seems like the changes we are making are not taking effect or being saved in the nemu. Simple example I will edit fan on/off settings save the tune and upload it.....confirm its in the nemu but fans do not respond to the settings. Then ill disconnect from the nemu and shut everything down restart it all and link into the nemu to find the settings are not what I set them to. This is only one of the fields this is happening in and its very odd. I have tuned many cars with nemu and have never had this issue at this extreme.

so we are almost 100% sure its a software bug....... the fan functions no longer work and live data no longer works and the software crashes super easy. We are using two different computers and it makes no difference. I have never had this issue before but after the last few updates the system has become less stable. @JKTUNING @OnTheChip

When you makes changes to ANY parameter in the software you need to TAB or click out of it BEFORE you UPLOAD/SAVE.

For example, if you change the FAN ON temperature from 192 to 190 and the cursor is still in the FAN ON temperature parameter item and you hit SAVE or UPLOAD it will NOT do anything.

It will only mark that item as being changed when you click off of it OR hit TAB to go to the next parameter field.

If you are having issues with loss of data packets you may need to depin pins 7, 14 and 15 from the stock ECU harness. These are the stock consult wires and they can cause interference with the NEMU's logging structure.

And to add to the original issues with the post.

First off, what is your base fuel pressure? The latency provided in the software is assuming you have a 43 psi base fuel pressure.

If your fuel pressure is higher than that, you will need to raise your latency to compensate as the extra fuel pressure adds resistance to the injector valve movement and will require extra time to get the same fuel from the injector.

Use the chart on here as a reference if your fuel pressure is increased above 43psi (vacuum line off!)

as for the fan information, we will try that out. it threw us cause we haven't had to go that route before and now since the new update it seems nothing we try will make the fan function operable. but, we also didn't know this new info. as for the injector info that we already knew for the most part. we are finding that this seems to not be an injector issues as we normally thought. we are noticing that the issue/s seem to be software related, so it seems. we are having to change factors that we have never touched before, things are not properly updating, values tend to change once the car is shut off and turned back on again. we think the main issue is that the o2 voltage for some reason is constantly changing which is effecting the afr. its in open loop so I don't know how that is, especially since we thought the voltage would default to 2.6v since its not being used. im not to nemu savy, BUT, my friend @se200 who is currently working with me on this is fairly software and nemu savy yet he cant pinpoint the source of the issue/s

I REALLY find it hard to believe it would be a software issue, but hey I have been wrong before. You simply need to make sure that you are uploading the basecode when you open a new file and hit control U after each change. You can even do a file compare if you need to to see the differences between what you pull from the NEMU to what you have open.

You guys are welcome to send me over your calibration file and/or log files so I can take a look.

Make sure you have your wideband power and ground ran to the ECU and not powered by something like the radio or fuse box power/ground. This will make the read you are getting on the wideband inconsistent when trying to view it through the software due to possible ground offset issues.

As far as the fan in concerned, you can view the rad fan output in the data screen of the software to see if the ECU is trying to activate the fan relay. If you are getting a check box in the rad fan or rad fan HS outputs then it may be something other hardware related.

While we didn't fix the issues in total we did get the software functions back online but it required a full dump and reload of the tune and software. I even downloaded all the base tunes again to be safe and what do you know the fans started working. So it was something out of wack with my install or driver. The op will be working on this and we will see what turns up thanks for the help guys.
