I got mine working just now. Requires slight fiddling but it's doable easily.

I'm using an eonon 1312 but it's the same as many other units such as pumpkin. I was able to do this without software overhaul or custom rom. I'm using the factory rom and firmware.

In the device go to settings then factory settings

Enter these codes to gain the required access to do the mod

Adbon
*#hct#root#
Hctbtup

You may need to reboot the device after this.

Now install xposed framework and xposed mtc apks. (Google it, i download3d directly on the head inig using wifi from the psrking lot.) Turn on the bluetooth xposed module and configure it. This will allow you to successfully remove the naming limitation.

There will be a few reboots somewhere in there but once it's setup it all stays configured. Reboots will have prompts alerting you. Now pair the device and you are good to go.

Another trick to get around this would be to have the bt module name start with obd as that's what it's looking for... but this would be a manufacturing revision.

Great work @zeneffect

I will have to look into double din options that are similar in software and hardware as your single din.

Rk3188 kitkat 4.4.4 hui-FEI units are the same. Anything you can flash the malaysk rom onto will work. So joying, pumpkin, eonon, etc. The only real hardware difference is the screen apparently. Btw I moved over to a custom rom the other day. It's far better than stock however causes the lcd display at the bottom to say "init" persistently, otherwise it all works. It's the old school segmented lcd screen that says init, not the main display.

This will get your research started off.

From there the rabbit hole goes deep.

Narrowed down an issue.

Bt module won't connect in program properly unless I crash tuner view. Next launch it works flawless until next application launch.

Close or reboot won't work, I have to actually crash the app.

Kitkat 4.4.4, lmk how to get logs and send them to you. It's annoying, though can be worked around.

There is no "Send Report" button when the app crash?

"Tunerview has stopped working"

Hit a button, it closes. I don't think there was a send report button. I'll check it in a few and let you know.

it may be worth noting that I use the crash to get it to work. otherwise I get the module connected then disconnected immediately.

Reports and details were sent.

What does tunerview differently after it crashes? I NEED it to crash. If it does not, I can't get the bt module working. It only works after a crash. Luckily i know enough bugs to do it on command. Just fyi.
