The injector sprays mostly on the back of the intake valve while it is closed, to help cool the valve and vaporize the fuel. The intake valve begins to open around the end of the exhaust stroke. Overlap occurs around TDC at end of exhaust, beginning of intake stroke.
Of course at 80% injector duty cycle, the injector is closed for only 144ยบ, so naturally it would still be open during some of the intake stroke.
