ok so i've got 2 things checked now, still no light, so far i've got CAS and ECT checked, i went my normal way home where i'd normally get it to pop on several times, but so far nothing yet.. when i got home i checked the no ignition signal box, i will give that a try tomorrow an see how it goes and report back.

OK so i got the light to come on today again, i believe its being caused by the "Code 21: NO Ignition Signal", it came on several times tonight on the way home an when i dropped a buddy off i unchecked it and checked the MAF box instead, from there on the light hasn't come on again, i checked codes, there were none, hit clear anyways..

i tried to get a log while it was on but the program crashed, i think it said write error or something..

Check your ignition resistor connection.

Whats that lol

is that the thing next to the coil? i've always heard it referred to as the ignitor chip..

so far i've got codes 11,12,13,14 checked in the DTC masks and no light has come on..

its lookin like Code 21 is the culprit, i checked what i think dave is talkin about an the wiring looks fine, besides i think if there were an issue with it i'd be having other problems like the tach not working right or RPMS not being seen by the ecu or even the car not running at all, not to mention its happening on 2 different cars.

i will check another DTC mask box tomorrow, probably TPS and report back..

Unplug and replug all of the connectors around the coil. You can get the no ignition signal DTC with no other symptoms/issues if the connection from the coil and power transistor to the resistor, or connection from the resistor to the ECU are corroded or flaky.

I was hoping someone more familiar with your engine bay could help you find what I'm talking about.

I think its software related man... 2 cars are having the same issue and it only started when we went to SA.

Ill take a look tho but I doubt its going to fix anything..

If it is a firmware issue, I still need your help finding it. That code is the same in RT.

Thanks,
Dave

What is odd is that it does not do this on every car and if it did we would have certainly looked into it. Not saying that there isn't the possibility of something that is triggering that code in the firmware, but it would likely be car or ecu specific that is causing this issue.

I replied to your email and want to discuss a few options to try and narrow down when this code comes on.. so get ahold of me through that medium.

is this the feller your talking about dave?

i changed it out with another an put some thermal grease on the back side as both appeared to have had it wear off.. then i checked the code 21 box, but still the light came on on the way home..

OH BUT IT HAPPEND DURING A RECORDING!!

however, it caused the nismotronic program to crash, but some data was still saved... i couldnt read what it said as i was driving so i just closed the program an shut the laptop lid.
