NismoTronicSA Update: 3.4.3 (MIL Flashing Fixed)
A new update is available today that fixes the MIL flashing issue that some of you guys were experiencing.

This did not cause any drivability issues and was ONLY apparent when there was a DTC being set.

There are two types of DTC codes and there is a big distinction that needs to be made between them.

The first is the normal DTC error, which is what you will see when you go to read the codes with the Tools -> Check Codes window.

These will come on and stay solid until you clear them with the clear codes button in the Check Codes window.

The second is called a transient DTC error and will turn the MIL on when a sensor goes out of range, but it can also turn the MIL off when it comes back into range. This can cause the MIL to flicker if you are right on the edge of the sensor voltage range and it is tripping the DTC.

Another new feature is the DTC enable masks, which allow you to completely disable the MIL output for any of the DTCs, which can come in handy when trying to find any transient codes that might be set. You can disable them 1 by 1 until you find the exact transient code that is being set so you can address the issue.

DO NOT DISABLE A DTC MASK PERMANENTLY IF YOU HAVE NOT DISABLED THE SENSOR/FEATURE IN THE TUNE!!

It can be added when using speed density.

Is a Baro sensor kind of like a second map sensor to measure the atmosphere pressure out side of engine? Is this just a option or is it a good idea to fit one with a Map sensor setup?

well the flickering is gone.. but the light still comes on, it stays solid, only for a short time tho then its gone again, still no codes though..

i have so far unchecked all of the boxes in the dtc masks, so far no light at all, i am going to test them 1 at a time an try to isolate the culprit.. tonight i drove home with CAS box as the only one checked, no light yet, going to try it a bit more tomorrow then check another one an so on..

OK, that is exactly what we needed to hear.

So you are indeed throwing a transient code, you just have to narrow down exactly what the culprit is!

I will see if I can do anything further on my end to help you figure out the transient code that is being thrown via the logging.

Yes, baro sensor measures barometric (atmospheric) pressure and is used only when tuning with alpha-N load.

well drove a couple hundred miles with only the CAS checked and no CEL at all, going to check another one today and see how it goes.

the other car (we brought both) had the light come on a few times, but i haven't really messed with that one yet, but i did make sure to update the ecu with the new firmware or whatever u call it..

If the CEL turns on at all, check the codes.

lol, ooh i do!

my routine is as follows:

CEL comes on, i goto check codes, there are never any but i hit clear codes anyways, close he code box then i check or uncheck a dtc mask, tab off an hit upload.
