If you plan to try meth injection in the future make sure the sensor is before the nozzle. The meth will damage it.

What's the difference between an open and closed element IAT? Can we use either one? I need to order mine today, so any quick advice would be appreciated.

With a closed element, the thermistor is completely surrounded and is not exposed directly to what's being measured (better for liquids). An open element leaves the thermistor exposed (better for air). Here's some examples of both: Amazon.com: GM Closed Element CLT or IAT Sensor with 6' Pigtail: Explore similar items

Thanks for the info, Dave. I went ahead and ordered the open element one from DIY. Figured it out after looking at a few pics.

Would you happen to know which pin I need to splice into on the OBD1 ECU for the EGR Temperature?... (what it says in the installation doc)

Check the FSM diagram for your ECU as it is not the same pin on all ECUs.
