Logging Values NOT Being Displayed? (Fix in Here!)
This was initiated through email but will bring it to the boards just incase someone could benefit from this.

We're trying to hook up the nemu but it's not showing any info on the laptop. Software is installed and it does show connection. The car also starts. Any suggestions?

John replied:

What chassis is this currently installed into?

You may have to disconnect the stock wires at pin location 7, 14, and 15 (consult communication wires) at the STOCK ecu harness connector.

Do NOT disconnect them from inside of the ECU as those are the 3 pins that run into the NEMU for logging communication.

This will be going into a P10.

To be honest with you im not very savvy with wiring. more of a newbie to the ecu section. Are there any other possible solutions? Should I try and reinstall the program? Im running window 7 w/ 64 bit. Also have a safc2 and greddy MSS runnig not sure if that interferes with the nemu.

No, you have to disconnect the Consult wires on the harness side of the connector. I was having the same problem. I made it easier on me and removed the whole pin rather than cutting the wires, makes it easier to change if I ever sell the car or what not..

I have 95 p10 OBD1 with VE

It has nothing to do with the installation of the program (it is a standalone app).

Some cars have electrical interference with the stock consult wiring, which will cause the NEMU to have issues logging.

All you have to do is remove/cut the wires are pin locations #7, 14, 15. If you do cut them, make sure that you cut them far enough away from the ECU connector that you can reattach them at a later date if you need to.

This does NOT have to be done on every single car, but if the software shows connected and you are not getting any data on the screen then it is something with those three wires that is causing you a problem.

You are welcome to give me a call today and I can walk you through what you need to do.

Also, to be sure you cut or depin the correct wires, just open the ecu and look at where the three wires are connecting to at the harness. Makes it easier to get the correct wires.

have you tried using a choke or ferrite core on the wires?

Something like this might help.
Snap Choke Core - RadioShack.com

We use them on the USB cable, but not on the actual wires that go from the NEMU to the ECU itself.

It is just easier in the end to just remove the stock wires from the equation, since everything is now internal to the ECU.
