forum NOOB - but not new to sentras - have a question about parts interchangeability
hi All - I first experienced the sentra in the form of the datsun 510 that belonged to a friend in college 25 years ago - had many a blast in that car. Later that same friend had an SE-R that was even more fun. fast forward to to 2002 when I bought the brand new b15 spec-v, drove and owned it for 11 years. liked it so much that in 2003 I bought my first se-r, a white 1992 b13 and started rallycrossing and autocrossing, eventually doing fairly well in regional championships. I still have that SE-R, but its not in the best shape. So a week ago I bought a pristine '92 SE with the intent of building a franken-SE-R. now I'm in the process of swapping over to the SE the best of my SE-R, and also upgrading to an SR20VE. I have some questions about interchangeability of parts and have done some research but still have a question. Does anyone know if the AC system from the GA16DE can be swapped over tot he SR20VE? maybe not the compressor and mounting bracket, but what about the rest of the AC system? looking forward to having my new ride completed soon. thanks, Chad

Welcome and I'm sorry I have no answer on the A/C system compatibility. While I've been part of witnessing a swap of a 98 200sx SE-R into a 94 Sentra E, the A/C was tossed in the process so I never even thought to check... doh! You might just be a pioneer in this!

I know some people use the GA16 A/C lines in the turbo cars to gain better clearance for fancy manifolds or strangely located accessories related to the turbo system they installed.

I did find some threads where people were able to retain the AC piping and possibly the GA16 compressor & bracket albeit with some modification evidently. I'll try to go that route. Thanks, Chad
