Hey guys, My name is Taylor and I've always had a love/hate relationship with Nissans.

I had a 280zx when I was 14 for all of a week. Yep. Crashed. But noone could find or get a title and there wasnt much metal left. Mostly rust.

Anyway, I recently acquired this little gem:

To say it has put me through it might be an understatement, but I cant get over the stupid grin I get when I get the opportunity to row through the ge- Wait.

Flat tire on the freeway on the way to the tire shop while already riding on a donut.

After that, it drove great! Modded the airbox, threw in an auto G20 ecu, tweaked the ignition timing, and... oh man... that doesn't sound good...

Yep.

So now I plan to pick up a VE in the next two weeks. I just ordered an Apex'i S-AFC Neo, and plan to change over to an n60 maf and bigger fuel pump, along with a replacement clutch (slipped since the day I bought it,) CV Axles (clicking and throwing grease) and motor mounts (replaced the front only to find it broken IN HALF when I was pulling the pan... )

I've been lurking around the forums for some time, even before I found this 1995 SE-R, and I must say it is a wealth of information. I look forward to the forthcoming heart transplant and (depending on how that goes) maybe even the Convention 2017!

Really just wanted to say thanks. This is one of the most useful and organized forums I've had the pleasure of perusing, and really opened my eyes to the potential of this little thing. Not to mention helped me convince the old lady it was worth saving Keep it up!

Welcome to the forums! This is great news to hear that your sour tastes just entering into the SR20 world were not hampered, but rather inspired. Welcome to the forum.

Hopefully you can find time in your day to share with us some of your updates as you have briefed us well from the beginning!

Welcome to the forum.

A friend in HS had an E30 that we swapped in a built I-6 into. Great times...one-wheeler peeler for days!

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I'll try to document as much as I can.

As for the 280zx, it went out while winning an impromptu rally race in georgia red clay

1fast, those were the days huh?

Anyway, any opinions on the Neo/N60/ve setup?

May eventually send off my ecu, but figured this would be a good start to get it back on the road again and dialed in decently.

If you have the money, ditch the neo, get a tunable ecu and a wideband.

Why not just Nistune or Nismotronic the ECU you have? NEO is outdated technology and kind of subpar to Nistune/Nismotronic

Sorry for not dropping in. Some confusion about sr20forum and sr20-forum lol

NissanEgg, very true.

Anyway, I have been doing a lot of research, and while the VE does have some clear advantages, the cost and complication don't fit what I want.

That being said, I still refuse to scrap the car.

I'm leaning towards a de build, N/A, some ECU tuning, but overall just a fun DD with some suspension work and bigger cams

Oh and for all those concerned about it, I sold the NEO to a dsm guy.

The idea for it wasnt really for precise tuning, just a stopgap to control the VVL until I could move on to something more advanced (read: expensive lol)
