ca18det to sr20det
Hey everyone. Thought I would join this forum since I have just gotten an SR20DET.
I have had a CA18DET s13 for about two years right up until I blew the rod bearings last week so I thought it was a good time for an upgrade. I picked up an S15 SR20DET VCT motor package (motor, gearbox, nistune, loom, tailshaft, exhaust etc) off a friend and I am in the process of preparing my car to drop it in.
I am a big fan of clean engine bays so I am in the middle of relocating the fuse box to under the dash and the battery to the boot. I am wondering if there are many lines I can delete off the engine itself? I have no aircon/heater so I have started blocking off some of the coolant lines and also will be deleting the turbo coolant line when I chuck on my Greddy T517Z and hook up my link ecu off my old motor.
Also, what are some recommended upgrades for the motor? It already has a oil cooler, extended Greddy sump and I have a gktech clutch fan and a few other little things on the way. I am not looking for massive power as it is my daily which is also set up for track use (lock mods, 2 way diff etc). I will be getting the T517Z tuned on 14psi so any recommended supporting mods to go with it would be great
Will chuck up some engine bay picks when I drop the donk in and hook everything up.
