New member with oil issue
I rebuilded my sr20 about 3yrs ago I installed a new oil pump when I did rebuild. About 200 miles into breaking it in the oil pressure dropped to zero and its been sitting since. Recently(5months ago) I did a oil change don't remember if I switched out the oil filter but I started the car up and it had pressure drove it around the block 2 times and the oil pressure just dropped back to zero. I'm wondering what could be causing this do I just need a another new oil pump could my filter be clogged I'm lost right now any guidance would be appreciated

What are you reading your oil pressure with? Im thinking the sending unit for whatever your reading the signal from is bad.

I'm using a mechanical gauge. Is there any way it could be a partially clogged oil filter. Or should I just tear it all apart and put a new oil pump

Start with your gauge. It seems faulty to me.

Partially clogged filter will still pass oil. Totally clogged filter will likely burst from the oil pump trying to push oil through it.

The gauge you are using does seem like it may be suspect. You could try removing the oil filler cap with the car running, you should be able to see signs that oil is flowing. Also try feeling the oil pan after running the car for a minute, you should be able to feel the oil warming up. If it is staying cold, then oil may not actually be flowing.
