New member 92 se-R in md
I started out with a 01 sentra with the sr20 roller rocked and got hooked, I autocross that car. I jut picked up a 92 se-R on a trade. It has rust and looks like crap but it will work for a hpde build. Haven't don't anything but started weight reduction. I'm trying to make the August nasa track event at summit point but rather do it right then rush it. I'm big on learning from people's mistakes so if you have any dos or donts feel free to list them here! And as soon as someone tells me how to upload a pic with my phone I'll get some up here

Thanks
Kevin

Have a question on road racing wheel size, I'm looking at 16x8 has anyone out there had a problem with this size? Tire availability? Anything like that? I have searched and I see 15x7 or 15x8 is very popular also but I want to clear the fast brake kit and keep tire price down

Thanks

Welcome to the forum @Kboyer47. Please use the Classifieds - Wanted section to look for parts (no minimum posts required to do so).

Like you said, 15x7 and 15x7.5 and 15x8 are very popular wheel sizes. You can get plenty in this size to clear the fast brakes kit. I would recommend looking at 949 Wheels.
Tire availability for these sizes are easy to find in 205 widths and even some in 225. Something good can always be found.

I have no experience with performance tires for 16" wheels so I can't help there. However, if you find the right sized tires, there should be no issues running a 16" wheel.

I use 16x8 Enkei RPF1 on my B13. Only issue is finding "proper" tire size in 40 series. I run 215/40R16 from Yokohama S-Drive as they are the only ones left in a street tire. You could run a 205/50R16 or such, but the tire will be much taller. Also, because my car is a GA16DE car, the GA steering rack has more steering angle than SR20 racks, so I rub the inner wheel lip on the lower control arm at full lock. A 3mm spacer would fix that issue.

You'll find a much larger selection of B13 friendly 200TW & R-Comp tires in 15" than 16".

Here are a few threads pertaining to wheel clearance with the FastBrakes kits.

Sorry Ben This wasn't a wtb thread, I am building my first b13 and just want people's opinions on some parts. I'm not big on re-inventing the wheel Id rather learn from people's mistakes/ knowledge of what works. I'm going to post in the road race section with build questions unless there is a better spot.

That sounds like a good spot.
Let me know and I can move this thread there if you'd like.
