New b13 Owner and Member.
Hello All!! Just wanted to introduce myself since I've been using this forum as a resource. I just picked up a b13 from another forum member and I am looking forward to owning it an making it my own. I was born in the caribbean so I remember Nissan Sunnys and Bluebirds when I was a kid and always loved them. I've had a few cars in the past, went from a civic to a acura tsx to a focus st and now a b13. The previous owner has an avenir engine in it at this time but without the paperwork for the engine I can't tell what version. I look forward to the wealth of information your forum has to offer and will do my best to research my inquiries before posting. Thanks again for looking.

I have to welcome you and inquire as to why you got rid of the Focus ST?

Thanks for posting a picture right away, or I would have been forced to request them! Enjoy your stay.

I bought the Focus St brand new and noticed immediately once you got on it you would feel the engine rock backwards. I found out it was a recall on the engine mounts and took it in to the dealer. I got the car back a few weeks later and the rocking was gone but then the clutch felt funny. I then found out that Ford replaced the clutch lines with thinner ones as a means of restricting the clutch in an attempt to deter people from driving them aggressively. My clutch ended up going as well and I had to sit in a loaner car for about 3 weeks while the investigated whether it was my fault or theirs. They ended up covering it but between the issues I'd been out of my car for half the time I owned it. Then the last issue to raise it's head was the car would intermittently not start.... I could drive to a destination without an issue but when it was time to leave, the car would not crank. Other drivers we having issues where they would bumps and the car would shut off. Ford replied with another recall for 5 bad splices but advised that they would not be able to repair the issue for another 3 months and could not offer me a loaner for the time. Third strike and they were out.. I traded the car for something a little bigger, a 2013 Kia Sportage SX and took a $3 grand hit on the Focus but had peace of mind. Ford scrapped the engine after two years and the 2015 got a brand new engine and face lift. I wanted to hold out for the Focus RS when it releases but I've learned my lesson, a new engine, chassis and platform needs to have to time to have the bugs worked out.\

As per the b13, it needs a little love but hopefully I should have it on the road soon.

Changed the spark plugs this weekend, disconnected the charge pipe and took some oil out of that and the intercooler. Got a one of the elbows shortened to keep it closer to the body, my friend raised the exhaust and rewelded new flex in. The turbo appears to be shot but the previous owner was nice enough to give me two spares.. so we're going to try one of the others to see if it holds boost. Fifth gear is not even a thing right now so I'm picking up a used trans tonight that supposed came from another b13 tuner who had no issues with it. Wish me luck!!
