Thread: old member ... back behind an SR20DE

January 8, 2004. That's my original join date on g20.net. That's the day I got my CPO 2000 Infiniti g20 with automatic in autumn bronze (ET1). Had her for 7 years until the day I just got bored and sold her.

January 9, 2015. This is the day I just bought this new to me 1997 Nissan Primera Se 2.0i with automatic in autumn bronze (ET1). It's current mileage (in km as I'm currently living in Europe) is very near what I sold my g20 with(170k miles).

They are spec'd nearly identically in many details, and best part is, I wasn't even looking for this car.

More as this little fairytale unfolds - but it's good to be back in familiar territory.

Yea it's kind of strange because I used to have an account here as chickenwing but I had to reregister today ... guess there was some house cleaning for in-op members over the last 10 years.

The micra is fun as hell. Like the original GTi. 1800lbs, 75hp, and shorter gearbox for this model. I upsized the throttlebody to the one off the ga16de, upped the timing 2*, H&R cupkit and 15" nissan dealer option wheels. Insurance on it is ~$100 / year.

If Nissan Canada has a Micra that is bad-ass and we don't get it, what's up with that??

Here's the thing ... this is the last Nissan-only micra, just like the p11.144 is the last nissan-only primera.

K12+ micras share the Renault Clio(I think) chassis ... and all of their typical French problems.

P12 primera is on a Citroen chassis/electrical system, even uses many engines. It's not a real nissan anymore.

Anything nissan designed after 2000 is really half French since they bought them out when nissan was in financial trouble(and the enthusiast nissans died).

NICE!! ..welcome back... I know well enough to know while we might again be without an sr20 or g20, we'd just come back with something else later (we always do it seems)
