First B13
Hey guys! So I'm about 95% sure that only about 2 or 3 people know me that are in these forums. I was on g20.net for a while but I always lurked and never really posted much, just a few posts here and there. But, I figured i'd come out of the shadows and introduce myself to many.
My names Eric Rivas, but most people call me Coco since it was my childhood nickname. I know, very cheesy and girly lol. Anyways, I got into the car scene solely because of my father. He owned a 71' 510 back in the late 80s when he moved over here from El Salvador and he will always tell me stories about his 510. Sadly, he got rid of it lol. When i was about 12 I got really into cars because I started to help my dad work on my brothers car. At the time my brother got his P10. I remember doing little stuff like changing the oil and the antifreeze. Just small stuff. Finally after 2 years he decided to go turbo and I got hooked.
I started researching about cars and saving money so I can help my dad pay for my first car. I got really into the B13 chassis because my dad always leaned me towards anti-honda, lol, sounds kind of biased but ultimately he wanted me to be different. We have too many hondas down here in socal, no disses to them though!
I looked and looked for B13s, I remember when i was about 15 we went to go look at a B14 that I found on craigslist, it was boosted but it was an overall bad car.
My dad finally convinced me to get a P10 and i was a little bummed out because I always wanted a 2 Door, but I found one for about 800 bucks and bought it as my first car.
To make this shorter cause I feel like I'm saying way too much lol, my dad found a white p10 a few months after i got my black one and we picked it up for parts. It had a dented front hood and bumper. Got it for 500 bucks, it ran and everything. We noticed that it was actually a clean car and the tranny had no pop out so we decided to fix that one up. I sold my black p10, and ended up boosting the white p10 with a w11 avenir swap.
I had a build thread on G20.net and some may know me as "Rivas JDM Garage" or what not. But yeah, i got rid of the white p10 and finally acquired Ernesto's B13. But before that, i got myself from a close friend of mine, a RHD B13. I heard it has been going around for years but I'm deciding to keep it and fix it up. All work will be done at the house except for the exterior paint and tuning.
Anyways, I'm sure most of you guys didn't read through all of it but thats pretty much my automotive life in a bubble. Hope you guys will be following my RHD build thread and probably give me a few pointers. Thanks guys!
