nw noob
I picked up a 91 g20, 320k engine replaced at 240k, off cl for a temp dd, people are asking crazy money for broken shit around here. It's old and kinda grungy, but so what, I live in in Seattle. I can clean it up if I want to. Has a very low idle, po said maf. looked it up and going for the maf ground before I head to the wrecking yard. Has anyone done a seating material swap? The driver side leather is bad. Anything I should look out for?

I've recovered hundreds of seats. Get yourself a good pair of hog-ring pliers and some new hog-rings to use and you should be all set. There's not much to it once you get into it.

If you don't want to go all out, I've heard zip-ties are a good alternative.

While you have the covers off, re-expand the foam with a garment steamer if you have access to one. Press it hard against the foam and let the steam expand it from the inside out. No need to let anything dry, it won't get that wet.

Where do you suggest I get material? Is there someone who makes a kit?
I was thinking of using a decent passenger seat from the wrecking yard if there are any.
