Thread: P11 owner from South Florida

786What's up everyone? Have owned my P11 for about 8 months now and just replaced pretty much all of the front suspension and brand new shocks & Tein springs all around. Car has over 200,000 miles and now it drives like a car with 20,000 miles on it. Was thinking about doing a VE swap, but not too sure. Mainly thinking about doing the swap because of the 200,000 miles, the power steering pump just started to whine like a newborn and I would sure love the extra power (even though it's not that significant). Don't really want to do a DET because it's my daily. The P11 is a 2000, and I understand there's a few things that need to get done in order to do a VE, just trying to do some research and figure out exactly what that is. Was on G20.net for a while, just never thought to make an account over here until now (don't know why). Just thought I'd drop a thread and say hello to everyone.

honestly, its do able but its the wiring part that's the problem.......I would jus run a stand alone and call it a day.

Hey @TREYDEE, thanks for the info. What kind would you suggest? And correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't that be costly. Like almost the price of the engine itself, costly?

No problem, yes....going stand alone is gonna cost about double of what the engine costs. But you could also get a 99' g20 complete engine harness and that would be much cheaper. Jus gonna cost you for have someone install the harness, its alot of work lol...but that the cheapest option.

I've been reading up on a step down harness, is that a good route as well? Kind of hard finding a perfect harness. Not looking to make crazy amounts of power. @TREYDEE

step down harness is for 99 g20's that wanna run a b14 ecu, you don't need that unless you wanna run nismotronics or a jim wolf ecu. I aslo recommend going that route also, so that you can the VE can run at its best.

Oh, so one of the cheapest ways to drop in a VE would be to switch out the harness? Might have to just stick with a RR motor. @TREYDEE

yes bro, but you might find a ve for the same price as a RR ......what part of florida are you located?
