gtir pulsar not starting
Hello, I just bought a 94 stir pulsar. Starts fine when it is cold but not when warmed up. Auto elec said pulse was fluttering at the injector and told me to change the distributor. Went to wreckers and he laughed and told me there was a crank angle sensor in the harmonic balance and that i should see a wire terminating there. There is no wire that I can see and a change over distributor is very expensive just to " have a go". Can any one help with this? Thanks

1: get a new mechanic (because both of them are wrong)
2: ship me the car because I have been looking to get a gtir.
3: most of the time when you can't start the car when warm you have a bad ecu temp sensor.

Two things could be happening temp sensor is telling the ecu that a over heat condition is occurring or start up enrichment is causing a flooding condition due to ect reeding. Try this first because it's a very cheap option also pull any ecu codes and fix those. Good luck.

What country are you in? I don't think shipping would be affordable. As for the issues with the car, check the wiring to the temp sensor for both the gauge and ecu. If your not formilar with electronically controlled cars you might be stuck and need a shop to repair the issue.

Hey mate. Just played with the wiring from dizzy. The loom plug @ dizzy was loose. I crimped the connections better and don't have an issue any more. Not having a go. I appreciate you answering me. Just thought i would let you know for your own record that this can be the problem. Thanks again
I have set of Tein super street coilover's. Can I change the springs for off road and keep the rest of the coilover?

Sounds good but a loose wire means the issue was not temp dependent as you stated before. You should go over all the wiring to make sure you have no other issue. Enjoy that car.

From all my experiences with bad temp sensors is that ttey are not connected or bad, that the fans will stay on constantly. The car will also be in limp mode til the sensor is conected or replaced with a functioning one. It never had nothing to do with the car not being able to start even after warm up
