Gtir parts are old and not worth the $ or time, I have owned two gtir engines and both had issues. You have a lot of good ?s that can be answered with a little more research. What hp level are you looking for and what's your budget? Based on your posts here I think a straight fwd det swap is your best option. You can tune a stock det with t25 out to 250whp easy and keep the stock trans. This can also be done for cheap (1500$) if you do the work. Anything bigger and your going to spend 3k$ plus.

FYI. COP on these cars is not worth it untill you cross the 400hp mark and it will cost you $$$. If your a baller get an sr20ve 20v with oem COP,6spd trans and add a turbo. Good luck.

I'm trying to get at least 300 to 350hp just on bolt ons.I know people that get 300 hp on cheap setups from eBay on Honda's.I'm the only Nissan guy on my possey.they all drive mazdas with 500+ they know nothing on nissans but they will help me tune it up one of the main heads is a master tech in rotary.he tunes everything.I want to play with my current Sr and plan to buy a ve soon and go crazy on that.that's why I came to the forum for help.what kind of small upgrades could help my engine gain a couple of horses witouth compromising the my ecu..I've seen a couple of
engines online that have infinity throttle bodies things like that..

For 300-350hp open your wallet. No bolt on in the world will net you these #s. you will need a larger then stock turbo, ecu injectors and all the other supporting parts. What is your budget??? The stock motor can be turboed but based on your working knowledge of this car I don't think it's within your skillset.

3-4k$ will be tight but if this "Mazda guy" is hooking you up and doing all the work, I.E. wiring in the stand alone and tuning it. Then here is what you need.
Big turbo t3+, pt6262, borgwarner t04b or of the like
Waldoro fuel pump, 750cc injectors or greater
Tubular turbo manifold with 38/46mm wastegate and down pipe
3in exhaust
Haltech installed an tuned, with all needed sensors
Good 6 puck clutch, spec stage 4 or 5, comp or clutch master equivalent
Fic with piping all aluminum welded to fit your chassis 2.5in or better
Suspension to aid in traction, Megan tien or ksports
Tires to grip drag rads work best

Enjoy!
