If the engine is running well with the S4 cams I'd suggest boost instead of a VE swap. Also I noticed you didn't mention anything about the ECU, is it stock?

i honestly dont know how well it should run/idle with these cams and the current tune it has on it, but its a little rough (saying that as a dealer technician, customers complain about the darndest things) I believe the current engine/ecm is the original, just clocking over 204k. what setup would you suggest with all O.E internals, just a bluebird turbo/manifold with a det ecu? or some type of daughter board/piggy back? alot of scattered information for a couple of my questions, if you have any useful threads i would appreciate it.

been looking around but cant find a knee bolster anywhere, i guess carpet was removed because racecar
it would be nice to have those things later on or whenever i can come across them.

the only real history i know of the vehicle is the PO bought it back in 2006, did alot of work to it, along with foam filling all cracks and crevices in the body. the car has seen many track days due to PO being a driving instructor at VIR, and also drove in NASA iirc. the body is pretty beat up, some rusty rockers and battle scars but its still pretty solid. this car needs lots of TLC, brakes, engine gaskets, misc. stuff. if you guys have any spare parts or anything sr related that you need to get rid of, just let me know, im always in the market for goodies.

Let me know if you want me to grab the plastic cover you are missing or if you are looking for any other interior parts

JWT makes an ECU specifically for your car with the S4 cams, it messes with the timing and raises the idle a bit. I don't know where you live, but I'd imagine on cold mornings your idle is quite rough/lopey at first start up with the stock ECU. You can of course manually raise the idle a couple hundred RPM to smooth that out though.

As far as your other questions about the turbo setups, it all depends on how much you can/are willing to spend. 204,000 miles is getting up there where it may not be the best idea without doing a basic rebuild first, but that costs even more cash.... if you know how, and have the tools, a VE swap may be a better idea then. They usually have around 60k miles on them.

haha probably still a stock ecu then, ive read the manual countless times but im having a hard time understanding the readings from my Apexi NEO, looking at it various times while driving, still not sure if readings are good or bad, or something that i need to immediately attend to.

i was thinking something along those lines, i would just like to create a basic setup. are there any detailed threads to refer to for all necessities needed for either DET or VE swap? ive skimmed through what i could find for both of these, but nothing that screams "hey, IDIOT, you need this stuff", etc.

Still trying to wrap my head around all of the possibilities with this platform, and what the differences are between every SR. Probably headed in the direction of a factory/OE setup, i dont have he knowledge or budget for anything like gsxr1000 coils, or dyno tuning, just the fundamentals to create a base for progression.
