Greeting from Colorado!
Alrighty, get to start another forum with the rest of the scrubs .

I am 28 have been into Datsuns since I can remember, learned to drive on my dad's datsun 210, have owned my 280z for over 10 years. I really enjoying picking up daily drivers that need a bit of work and fix them up, and resell them when I move, I have really been fixating on the 95-97 200SX SE-Rs. I am looking for a good cheap daily to get me through the next few years that I can make minor tweaks to while driving the car.

I have a wife and 3 kids and in the military so I move frequently. I grew up mechanic-ing and driving.

I am still in the process of looking for a 200SX I could have already had one, but I am really trying to hold out for an SE-R. Do you guys think I should hold out or just break down and get a 1.6 200SX? I could go for a Sentra SE as well it would be better since I could fit the whole family in that easier, but we rarely take my car with the whole family any way thats why we have the minivan .

Here is the laundry list for me of cars I have had
In order:
1985 Chevy s-10 Blazer (2 Door)
1991 Ford Explorer (2 door)
1975 Datsun 280z (Keeper!)
1987 Nissan 200SX (VG30)
1984 VW GTI (Terrible)
1997 Subby Impreza Outback Sport (pretty ok)
1971 Datsun 510 Wagon (KA24E, but I didn't build it and got board)
1991 Volvo 240 Wagon (loved it, but was too underpowered)
1983 Nissan Maxima ( I only owned 4 hours and my buddy really wanted it so I sold it)
1991 Mazda Miata (underpowered Datsun 280z)
??????? Hopefully a 200sx.

Autumn Sunburst would be the color to look for.

The volvo was a very cool car there were 2 things I just couldn't get over, the auto-tragic transmission paired with the underpowered engine just made the car not fun and almost scary to drive, other than that I loved that Volvo maybe some day I will own another, but not for a long time.

When I had the Volvo I didn't have any extra swap money it was all getting poured into the Z at the time, it was just cheap reliable transportation.

Bad news the 200SX I was going to go look at this morning sold before I even got in the car, the guy didn't even tell me he was showing it to other people. I am a little annoyed. I am honestly thinking about just getting a 200SX SE and just immediately swapping in a VE the question is how worth it is the LSD in the SE-R transmission.

You need the SE-R transmission to swap a VE into the SE model. The GA16DE is a completely different animal so there's a pretty good list of parts needed to do that swap.

Love that Z man.

Thanks for the information and compliment. I really want one of these, just seems like it isn't in the cards at the moment, most of the 200sx's around here on CL no one ever responds or responds just to say it is sold!
