You should be able to order a hotshot copy header off of ebay or find a decent used some sort of header like asp budget, older hotshot or a custom-4-1.... If you are in a hurry the ebay header is your best bet, should get you at least 10whp. It is a much better header than the pacesetter, be glad it isn't in stock anymore. I would also throw in a 91-93 intake cam for another 5whp or so and the ability to actually rev the car and make power above 6500 rpms. A simple cone filter with a velocity stack will get you a couple more hp and sound WICKED, lol. Advance your timing to 19 degrees and you will have a completely different car.

That is what I would do then save for boost or ve, whichever floats your boat.

Excellent info! I hadnt realized the ebay headers were worth their cost. Very good to know. Ive come across your other tips and tricks in the forum. Ive heard that swapping out the stock ecu for a g20 ecu can remove the speed limiter and raise the rev limit. Certainly some good starting points i appreciate the intel and may have a look at some of those ebay headers. Thanks!

Hit my first nail in the road :nonchalance: finished power-washing the engine bay and transaxle (round 2) this morning. Got the flywheel back on and new clutch installed. I put in the new release bearing and noticed the spring clips (kit did not come with new ones?) were in rough shape. Local nissan dealer wanted way too much and wouldn't have them until the middle of next week. Ordered a set from courtest parts (and an oem clutch cable as ive heard the aftermarkets are dodgy) so looks like the reassembly is on hold... over 8$ worth of parts... oh the frustration! Note to other newbs that are tackling an overhaul. Do your research and acquire parts first! Far less frustrating. If anybody in the area of Anderson county south carolina happens to have a few extra clips laying about please let me know. Much obliged.

2rast2curious: I have seen old engines hold boost better than new ones. It all depends on the maintenance. I had a Talon that held boost up to 285K miles because I ran synthetic oil and changed it like a RELIGION. Makes all the difference in the world.

Greetings from South Carolina!
I'm located in Columbia and have a decent amount of sr parts. Few de/det blocks, roller rocker head, and a lot of other parts.
