1997 200SX SE-R again, potential water pump?
Ok, got another issue with this flippin car. So a little while back, I thought that I was hearing a belt squeal. Checked, belts look good, lubed them anyhow just to be sure, they seem in spec on tension. Had a friend look under the hood, water pump was jumping a bit on start up. The squeal persists mainly after startup for the first few tenths of a mile of so. Sound seems to be somewhat dependent on amt of pressure on the clutch. ALso throughout the winter here, I have been noticing a burning type smell that comes through the vents if the heat is on. When I cut it off, the smell no longer is prominent. I dont know if that is heater core on its way out or if its something else that I am only smelling when Im pushing the air through vs. just having the dial on off.
