Thread: bodywork/painting?

i have a new to me, b14 project car that i am going to paint soon

i was wondering, when i paint it, should i take the molding off and fill it with body puddy? has anyone done this and gotten good results?

i took the molding off and i was going to use fiberglass if you use putty like bondo it could crack when you paint it ive painted alot of cars use fiberglass with long hairs and use very little bondo and will work just finshed a civic for a customer

how much do u think painting the engine bay will cost? i have the stuff to paint the out side, but i cant really pull the engine out and paint the bay myself.

original color was green, then previous owner primed the car with cans, but they didnt sand it or an or anything, so all the moldings are pained and have to be replace etc. i was thinking black with a purple pearl, white rimes and purple calipers and lugs.

a shop should run around 200 but its not that hard to drop the motor if you were local i would charge 120 for black and turn around is one day its easy

you can rent them for cheap or pawnshops always have a hoist for cheap
