Im thinking of doing this im just not sure. how much HP can you throw at lets say the S15/20V coils?
I know the LS coils are good for upto 1000HP..Anyone?

If I had to make an educated guess based on how much power the stock coil setup can handle (525-575 WHP with tiny plug gaps) I'd say the simple S15 COP setup is probably good for 600-675 WHP give or take. I have a hard time imagining the LS coils are good for much more. Maybe with 8 of them on an 8 cylinder engine, but not with 4?

With CDI you can go higher obviously.

I bought mine on sale for that price, they go to that price pretty regularly if you watch the site. When they get a new shipment they mark them down to clearance them out.

Just have to have patience .

Nah thats not the case, that wasn't a sale price. It was defiantly a typo, i contacted scott who runs the website directly as i was about to buy a big order of them (i am a retailer) that price listed was well under cost price.

You got lucky to get them at that price, Nissan America doesn't even get them that cheap.

*shrug* okay, I've seen them for that price multiple times.

From my order:

I've seen them on the site for $35, $45, $50 and $53.99, I've been watching it for quite some time. If it was a typo, they still honored it.

Even Google indexed the sale (meaning it was on sale long enough to have Google index the sale), so I think Scott (or whoever was talking to you) may not be giving you the full information:

And

Point is, If you look long enough, you'll find deals on them if not, even the $55 advertised on one site and $60 is still better then ebay pricing.

Updated 1st post with a photo of the end result/engine bay shot (its messy due to the wiring shots, will finish looming shortly).

as far as power level supported by these coils i have seen a few people on other forums (240sx) that run into problems with them over 450-500 hp. i know i had problems with mine when i ran the 20V valve covers plastic cover. if i drove the car to the track 2 hours the coils would break up a little around 8500-9k rpms during the drag passes. i think this was due to heat soak. after cooling for over 30 min the coils would be super hot and hard to touch. if i left the cover off i never had the problem.

You might find this interesting.

I just pulled apart my 20v harness, Found a stock 6 Pin relay and what looks like a fuse?

One of the wires comes from the relay, Splits into 3 two go tothe coil/cas harness (green/white stripe silver dots) and im guessing splits again further up as the same wire is found on each of the coil plugs. Then the last wire goes to one pin of what i think is a fuse?
