Thread: Chi town bound in july 1st

Will be in Chicago around July 1st . Would like to Chill with some on my sr folks while I'm down there. Should he there around a week or so. Went there last year to visit fam and had a blast.

Most of my fam over there r alot older then me and theres a huge generation gap and don't share the same common interest.

Edit - found out it's gonna be a mid-west tour. Flying Into gillete Wyoming then driving to the black hills (have family in SD). Then might be going to Minnesota or Wisconsin for a few day. Then going to be in chicago the rest of the time.

Going to spend atleast a day in the museum of science and industry. Then if the taste of chicago is going on I'll be there to pig out on good Chicago food. I feel Chicago is in the top 3 for good eats in the US.

What part of chicago will you be staying at?

Damn Tinely Park, thats a bit south. There are some good puerto rican spots in Humbolt Park right off divesion st.

Do you know the exact dates yet?

ill be renting a car while in up there, went there last year with my mom and step dad. my parents pretty much ruined it for me cause everything was on a time limit. step dad is ex marine special forces aka schedule Nazi.

thanks for the heads up on that puerto rican shop. its hard to find a good puerto rican restaurant. ill be seeing my grandma before i get to chicago so i know ill have my fix on PR food taken care of.

Your flying into my old Hometown, WTF? The airport is so small there is no gate, it's just a lobby and you walk out to the plane. Gillette to Chicago is about 16 hours to drive. I would highly recommend going through Lead/Deadwood and then to Mt. Rushmore. Once you leave that area its a crap drive until WI.

we drove last year from houston to water town then to chicago and back again. then 2 months later had to drive from houston to miami and back cause of a death in the family. i dont want to drive this year lol.

i texted my mom to get me the info on the trick cause she wont answer her phone. shes getting old, def lol

i heard its like a 6 hour drive but ill make it 2-3 hour drive lol

finally got word will be in Chicago june 30th

just got the tickets will be there july first. will be there till 4th of july i believe
