Thread: WI: Rear beam bending?

We don't have to get this done right now. Some time for everyone to save money and plan will seem to work. Early summer maybe?

I still think it is easy to do. No one believes me. I do not have time to get it done. If I coudl get a spare beam to try it once on, I think it could be done easily.

Mr. Foltz is not the most savory of people and made it seem like this was a daunting task. Sure you are playing with thousands of pounds of force on three points on your beam. As long as you do it properly, secure it, support it, and track what you are doing.

I think it is easy despite the fact I have not done it or tried it. Meh.

I would be game to do it, it would probably seal the deal on me keeping the SE-L. I've been on the fence about it for a while.

I'll look to see if I can contact Steve and see if he will be intrested. Not sure if Chicago or Milwaukee will be cheaper to fly into.

Lou, check non-stop daily flights from Denver to Midway thru Southwest. Also, non-stop daily Denver to Milwaukee thru Frontier.

We'll need a garage with a very flat floor for him to work in as well as covering his airfare and lodging, plus whatever his cost to actually do the bending.

Why not just back into a rock? Should get it close.

I could lend my garage if needed. Plenty of tools and a spare beam.

My garage can be used as well.

Try doing it for yourself and save everyone some money.

Care to explain this statement? Steve built a jig to do this job; I've watched him do it and it was fairly exacting. I think if it were so easy there'd be more people doing it themselves. Additionally for a while he was quite a guru on shortened Konis and some other suspension stuff for the B-chassis cars.
