I got into the boost a little on my way home about 1.5 miles away and now my 185k turbo DE is no more. The motor is knocking like a bitch.

If anyone has a good connection where I can pick up a DE on the cheap since I am a little tight on cash it would be helpful. I just need to get by while I build a suitable motor.

check u-pull-r-parts and car-part.com.

If you need help with the swap, let me know. I am going to be working on my bro's clutch this week sometime but I am jobless so I got time.

I had to drive it about 1.5 miles home after it started to knock. Does anyone think I can salvage the block and do pistons, rods, and new bearings? I'm guessing it would have to be taken apart to determine that though.

djslice thanks for the link, and I definitely could use the help since this would be my first swap or major repair.

From the sound of it, its probably not salvageable, but it doesnt hurt to pull it apart and check.

When I actually think back it has been running lower oil pressure than I remember with my t25. I don't really remember the motor making any noise, plus i did some pulls with kong on saturday night and it was fine. Would rod knock set on that fast? I'm new to this area. I mean the motor has 185k with the original oil pump so maybe it did go. I hope everything is okay that way I could build the bottom end and be back on the road sooner.

could I shoot you a call or something to see when you have time to come over and help me start tearing it down to see if anything is salvageable.
