Thread: Calling any Chicago area member for help

Well the time has come to take action against a forum scammer. Sadly, I am in CA, and he is in the Mt Prospect area. If you haven't seen what happened, here are a few links.

The short story: I purchased a t25/28 hybrid from him. It arrived in a box 5 times too big with no padding, and took lots of hits, breaking various parts. He wouldn't do anything about it. Finally got around to getting the turbo inspected, and then found out that the hybrid turbo he sold me was really just a t25. He continues to maintain that the part was sold as-is, and it wasn't his part, it was a friends, so he is not responsible. I just updated the apology thread with a text conversation I had with him.

So if there is anyone in the area that can help out, or knows him, it would be greatly appreciated. At this point I want to proceed with legal action in small claims court. As I am not from the area, I am unsure about where to start. So if you have any experience in the matter, or wouldn't mind making a visit, I would be very grateful. Here is all of the information that I have on him at this point.

I believe he is in Mt Prospect, about 25 miles north of Chicago.

He might still work for Autobarn Nissan as well.

supesdly this guy and his friend own a SHOP or WAREHOUE somwhere whare they have liek 10 cars being parted out.....he was supposed to sell me some fender flares...... i have his phone number.......

You can sue him in the county he lives in. That would be cook or lake county. Contact the county clerk of courts office and the will have a self representation packet on how to file a small claims case. You basically fill out the complaint paperwork, pay a fee, and get a court date. You can request theamount you are owed plus any and all court costs, in the event you win you will also recoup what the lawsuit costs you.

You will have to appear in court or hire an attorney to appear on your behalf.

Do you travel there for work? I am down there from time to time and live close.

If any of you are involved on the ChicagoZ forum, check this thread out, and respond if possible. He finally responds on page 4...Its comical. I have asked the admin to potentially ban him at this point.
