Kyle, what AFR were you guys trying to keep it at? How does she feel on the street?

For cruising, 14.5:1 was the target if I recall correctly. For power, leaner is meaner and then backed it off a little bit to be safe.

Definitely massive gains throughout the entire powerband in both torque and HP. Ya, the car feel way better. Cruising seems much more effortless, I do not have a good gauge on mileage just yet. I picked up gas shortly after I left on the PA turnpike, so only about 70 miles on the current tank. There were many times where I caught myself creeping up and over 80 MPH on the turnpike!

Huge improvement over the OEM ECU.

What about at WOT? mid 12's or so? The reason I ask is I'm messing around with a Neo on my SE-L. Most of the AFR info I've found is for turbo applications...which seems way rich for NA.

Does John have a OBD2 ECU yet? I could go to a OBD1 but then I gotta do a step down and all that crap. 22+ extra horses would be nice in the SE-L, though. It's running fat and slow at the moment.

He can make it work but not with the (SA) Stand Alone firmware that he and Dave have released. I don't think it would be much an improvement until they can put SA on OBDII cars (vs what setup you have now, and that I still use on my B14).

To really know how much to take out, need a wideband and a dyno to see what is happening. That is how I did it when I was changing mine around to make it as best as it could. I still take out 2-5% of fuel up top with the JWT ECU piggybacked by the SAFC-II on my B14 and the typical advancing of the distributor to gain a few more degrees of ignition timing. But that occurs accross the board on top of JWT Map, being capable of modifying each individual cell is what the NEMU allows (I think, I Am still really green to the new style of tuning in 2013, hah!)

John is running his OBD2 B14 with SA, so we CAN run OBD2 with SA and a step down harness.

So I am finally finding my way back to the forum after Saturday's event.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the shop, it was so very nice to meet all of you guys finally!

We will have to make this an annual or semi annual meet, if you guys are up to it.

I didn't do too much advertising this time around just to make sure it kept it smaller and more personal, which I felt was a great thing for this type of meet.

@Kyle 's car did very well for being a completely stock powered B13. To answer a few questions, the AFR at WOT was kept in the high 12s/low 13s for the dyno pulls and I richened it up to be high 12s when the car left. These engines respond very well to more timing advance in the mid range, and that is what helped pick up the power on his particular setup.

Plus, it still utilizing his stock O2 sensor and has full control over the A/C .. which is setup to turn off anytime his throttle is over 50% and kicks right back on when he comes back to cruising or normal speed.

I will post up a few of the dyno graphs when I get a chance so you guys can check them out.

Once again, thank you to everyone who came out! @Vadim @Kyle @blckse-r @fezman1337 @Storm88000 @SE-RMonkey @Nitelife

Generally NA cars should stick around 12.6-12.8, but that's just a safe range. Run what ever AFR gives you the most power without detonation is the more correct way to go. Some setups will make more power in 13's, na doesn't generate enough heat to really worry about it. Turbo on the other hand is a little pickier.
