Shipping a transmission
I need a box to ship a trans, the local FEDex and Uhual is being a pain to deal with. anyone got suggestion or a box I can get?

if not, I'll have to sell my B15 with Nismo diff and P11 final to pay the guy back for the 6 speed swap.

I got a tote that would probably be big enough for an SR tranny at big lots for $5. Maybe you can look into something like that. Or hit up the lumber yard and make a quick crate.

I have a pelican case that I have shipped three transmissions with. The cost is going to be around $150 total via FEDEX Ground or UPS, insured. The goat is that the total weight is around 115lbs IIRC.

The buyer will need to ship the pelican case back to you. The case is valued at $350 so this needs to be included.

I guarantee the transmission to be fully intact by recipient. You can borrow the case if you wish. I know where you live.

UPS and FEDex denied my tote, i shipped 2 blocks and a B15 trans in the same tote before and now they said it's not strong enough? rated at 400lbs iirc too.

Cliff, this is actually going to Jamacia. I don't think I want to lose your case.

Wrap the shit out of it with bubble wrap and then tape a box around it with shit loads of tape. Are you taking it to a regular fed ex store and not a warehouse? The stores are SHIT. I work for fed ex and the store told me i could not ship a bumper because it was to long, yet i delivered bumpers all the fucking time. I took it to my warehouse and shipped it right out. They even told me it wasnt wrapped right, but my warehouse said it was fine. The lil stores are full of shit. I even told the lady i was a fucking fed ex driver and she had the balls to tell me still that i was wrong, and it would have to go fed ex freight. Try the tote with a warehouse, find one that accepts packages and take it there.

Ups doesnt like to do heavy lifting, but if you wrap it enough in a box so it doesnt fall apart they will take it. The stores piss me off so freaking much.

My Pelican case is MILSPEC, and ATA 300 spec. They cannot deny my case. I hear ya on the whole Jamaica thing though. You could make it easy and have a prepaid fedex label included.

I need to find a Fedex warehouse then, I goto the UPS warehouse more often and they know me there but something must have happened cause i shipped trans trough them before.

Yah they know nothing at the stores.

I pack my transmissions in a big box and fill it with instafoam, I've used Fedex and UPS ground for this with no probablem. The fwd transmission weighs around 106lb and the both ground services will do up to 150lbs .
