Need help ASAP with crank pulley
Hey guys! I need some help with possibly replacing my crank pulley. Here's the symptoms.

started the motor the other day and heard some clunking that disappeared after a few minutes. tried searching where the sound was coming from but couldn't pinpoint it.
yesterday i started the car. same clunking and disappeared. drove it down the street and the voltage for the car was dropping. drove it back home and looked under the hood. saw the crank pulley to alternator belt was barely rotating.

checked it today. rotated the alternator belt and it was spinning on its own freely. checked the nut and it was tight on the crank pulley.

so does anyone have a spare crank pulley for an sr20de? is it the crank pulley or possibly another problem? and is anyone free to help put it on? i'm in central jersey. any help would be appreciated. need the car on the road asap!

Thanks guys!

Adjust the tension for that belt?

the rubber damper dries out and the outer ring on the pulley seperates. Happened to me.

had the belt tightened. and crank pulley was rotating on it's own. i'm pretty sure it's not supposed to rotate unless the crank is rotating, right?

the whole pulley needs to get replaced. Get a used one or Greg V sells an underdrive pulley for around $100.

Anyone else can help? Sernewbie didn't get in contact with me. I'm free until Wednesday. Hopefully the pulley comes in on Monday. Otherwise I'll try and do it myself.

It's pretty simple to do. Remove pass side and splash cover, rent a harmonic balancer puller. Take off both belts, remove bolt holding pulley with 27MM socket, remove pulley with puller, apply grease to crank end and slide on new pulley as far as it will go without forcing it and tighten down bolt to seat pulely properly. If you are feeling mechanical get a new front cover seal and replace it as it's accessible when the pulley is off

I do believe I remember the inspection plate having to be removed to jam the flywheel so everything wouldn't turn when I did mine.
