Just an update on the week so far.

1. Received an extremely flexible internship with a senior legislative officials office (will allow me to work around any full-time position I hopefully receive sometime soon).
2. Going tomorrow to sign a short term lease (Until Oct. 15th), on a place in Pentagon City.

All and all the week has been going fairly well. I am hoping my address change will help with the employment situation, as I am sure most probably think I'm crazy driving from Delaware each day.

*Warning...long post coming*
Update of sorts. I have happily been living in Pentagon Row since the beginning of September. My wife and I have signed a lease and we will be moving to the neighborhood of Del Ray, in Alexandria, on November 19th.

My job search has been going alright, but with wanting to end up in the government contractor world I am finding it is more about who you know. Needless to say I have been attending 2-3 networking events a week. Overall I have interviewed for a couple of positions, of course I cannot go in-depth, but it has always come down to me and one other candidate. Unluckily for me that other person has always already had their security clearance. That is one hurdle I am unfortunately unable to overcome, without having a Federal Department or other organization sponsor me. So this is where I ask for help of sorts. If anyone knows currently works within a contracting organization, or knows of someone who does, and would be able to personally pass my resume along that would be fantastic.

I am currently looking for a position with a government contractor firm. Position wise I am looking for something in the program analyst, policy analyst, research (analyst, assistant, etc.) lines, but in general I am open to anything.

Short synopsis of my background:

I did talk to Cliff. He actually sent my resume off to a couple of people that he knows and provided me with a recommendation on a Federal agency to apply with.

Thanks for the info on APG. I will make sure to check the positions out, but I'm thinking the commute wouldn't be very fun. I've previously commuted ~2 hours each way for my internship, so if need be I am definitely up for and use to longer commutes.
