Still having problems?
Some of you may know i did a swap and have been trying to get the car re-started. Ill give the run down on what has happened so far.

I swapped from a de+t 50lb 4bar to a det 72lb 3bar. The car started the first try but idled very bad. Wouldnt rev past 3k and was very rough getting there. So i started by re-grounding the maf and that didnt work. A few days ago the car was idling and just died. I figured it ran out of gas, which it did a couple days before. Added gas and the car still wouldnt start? I replaced the aac valve and the car still wouldnt start. I could smell fuel but it seemed like there was no spark. I pulled the dizzy cap off and 1-3 leads were missing, replaced the cap and still nothing. Joel has another dizzy but id like to buy a brand new one to eliminate that possibility completely but those dont run very cheap. So i guess my next step is the new diz and then go from there?

You do hear the fuel pump when you turn the key correct?Put a spark plug in the plug wire hold it against the VC to verify spark. Double check your TPS and Dist is connected. Reset your ECU. check all your after IC couplings especially the ones by the TB. Verify all ITM nipples are being used or are sealed off. If this does help call me and let's set up a time when I can come over and we will run through it.

FP is def priming. Do know the correct position of the TPS? Isn't it a certain voltage? When you say reset the ECU do you mean disconnect the battery? I have a feeling its just something dumb Im forgetting about( like the infamous IC caps from the original swap) i know you remember that joel..

The TPS voltage should be .44~.5VDC. Mine is set to .64VDC with the Q45 TB, and it's annoying. I need to lower it now that you mention it

Update..

The rough idle has been resolved. My new problem is the erratic up and down idle. I pulled the valve behind the IM and opened and everything seemed ok inside. I cleaned the valve next to the oil filter and resealed it with gasket maker and am fairly certain i did a good job with no leaks. Could a bad o2 sensor cause this?

Also the TPS voltage is set based on my Techtom reading. Ill be installing the wideband probably tomm so ill be able to check on the a/f mix. I havent been able to set the timing due to the bad idle but what should the DET be set too?

You may need the newer (97-99) idle control valve. Set timing to 17* and go from there. I believe JWT ECU are 17, you can call them to double check.

FWIR, the JWT ECU's are 15 degrees, just as Calum recommends his ECU's be set to 15 degrees.

I would agree with needing a newer style idle control valve. Sounds like yours is defective and cleaning it will not resolve your issue.

Idle control valve is the one on the IM or oil filter? What do you mean by newer stlye? Just a replacment or from a newer SR motor?

newer style ICV has a spring in it, I'm have to try and find you one, it's off of the 97 up SR. It's the one over the oil filter.
