When you take the unit off and look on the inside, the new type IACV will have a large spring at one end. If the spring is missing, you have the old type IACV. Nissan changed it to keep the unit from clogging (as often).

I'm trying to remember what mine looked like... and no I'm NOT going to take it off again to look. There was a spring in there somewhere.

I just noticed that they changed the aluminum casting at some point. Mine looks like the "JDM" one with the recess in the lower right and the oval port in the upper right corner.

Same. I bought mine from Standard Motor Products, but it's OEM (stamped with Nissan logo). I guess Standard is the supplier for some of the versions of the IACV.

Anyone knows how to take a B15 trans apart? I know there's a right up on the other site, but just incase I need some local help i figured I asked first.

I'm picking up tonight and picking up another one within 2 weeks. I want to cryo the gears, install a P11 final drive and maybe one of those phantom grip thingy before I install the trans into the car.

So, IS TOMORROW the IACV day at Jen's shop?? I wanna see KEO do one in an hour!!
