Jen/Keo..
The IACV unit is the one that is a bear to access beside the oil filter & the temp sensor. I changed mine while installing the Outlaw ThermoBlok Spacers which gave me more room to work (top half of the Intake mani off). The bolts are ****ing impossible to access if you have AC & Power Steering..

What day are you guys meeting this weekend? Im planning to come up but I like Saturday. That way if I still have problems, I have Sunday to finish..

Jen.. Whats for dinner?? I want some more PR food.

Great...

I got a set of ratcheting flex head wrenches for my bday... hopefully those will help. If not, I can put the IACV off for another date. The only critical thing is that I get the axles in. The old ones are making a lot of noise.

Yep.. Its exactly as advertised: My Intake Mani only gets warm (never hot). No drivablity or fuel improvements noticed.

But, its a MAJOR PITA to reinstall the EGR pipe with the thermal blocks!! Especially with our SSAC headers!! ITS IMPOSSIBLE!! As me, or Jen36 or ClassicAddict, How we know!! You will need a EGR blockoff kit...

Once you get the IACV off (which isnt easy), you just clean it with throttle cleaner: All Over.. Then reinstall (which isnt easy), start all screws by hand beginning with the bottom screws. Then torq down to spec.. Give yourself 3-4 hrs to accomplish..

Note: If your IACV dont have a spring inside, then you have the old type.. Trash it for the updated new IACV with the spring..

Good.. You can do mine on Saturday: Mr Quick Keo!!

AC lines & Power Steering lines are within an inch of my IACV! I will use a timer from start to finish. Maybe 2 hrs if you dont have AC & PS but I doubt that!

I let my IACV soak for an hour after removing to loosen & remove all of the black powdery stuff. I cleaned the inside of the Intake at the IACV connection with a long toothbrush while the IACV unit was soaking.

Plus it takes time to disassemble & reassemble the IACV parts to check for broke/sticky plunger & spring.

The IACV *can* be taken off and put back on in an hour, but it's a monstrous PITA to do it with the PS and AC lines in the way. Putting it back on, I had to thread in the long top bolt first, then the second top bolt, then the bottom two, then pull the long one out again to line up the connector bracket, all while somehow holding that stupid gasket in place. (I mashed part of the gasket into the manifold the first time, so I got to do all this isht *twice*.) The AAC valve under the manifold was much easier to pull and install, and even that is still a PITA.
