Someone tune me.(Calum RT)
Alright I guess first i should tell you my setup.

-B13
-DE+t28
-520cc
-z32
-blah blah
-Calum RT
-Innovate Lc-1

Anyone within a few hours drive that can tune my car please post up.

I dynoed my car today with what i thought was a base tune i got from a forum member with a similar setup, and i only made 206whp at 12lbs. It was really choppy. My AFR was decent across the power band. I think the timing map is FUBAR.

Any help is greatly appreciated,

Dustin

No one? I guess i have more reading to do.

Just when you thought you read every thread about tuning another link pops up.

Ive thought of just going with a AEM EMS just because of the amount of people that can work on it.

/Begin rant

Every shop ive been to that says they know Nissans, is clueless when it comes to my car. If it isnt tokyo dorifto, slammed, streched, poked, they dont want to work on it. Granted i am in Virginia. There is like 3 se-r's in the state so its kinda hard for me to expect anyone to know whats going on with mine. Wierd how people get caught up on whats cool right now.(this year, this month, this week...) It really seems like all these people know about cars is what they see in the magazine section at the wal-mart. I know there are a few guys in NOVA that know whats up, but down here it is horrible. I learned from a close friend that you should buy, build, and drive the car for you. Not for other people and what they think. I do what I do for me. I dont do it for what people will say at the next parking lot meet.

Sorry if i offended you or bored you.

End rant/

Isn't there a list of shops that tune "Calum RT"
I might know of one shop... only place i've let touch my spec but everyone has their own opinons...

There has to be other people using this in the area (md/va/dc) who have they gone to?

Understand the shops being clueless when it comes to the car.. (both my b13 and b15), luckily found a shop who the owner had a b13 heh

if you lived in upper MD you would not have this problem. theres a close group of about 10people here. im not saying any names because i dont want them to be put in the spot because they might not have time to do so but there is people here who can help its just a matter of if they got time or not. 206 HP is BS wtf is going on with your ****..

first things first make sure all your sensors are in rage. TPS has to be a certain voltage at WOT and close, check your timing make sure its at around 15, make sure your idle is solid mine is set to 1000. are you running 4 bar?? check for vacume leaks. are you running recirc or atmos..... its funny how tweaking these little small things can give you big HP gaines because im proof of that lol

I might just have to see if i can get stationed in MD next go around. Hmmmm.

Yes im running 4bar. 58psi idle. idle is alittle above 1000. Im recirculating. Im gonna go down today and give everything a good once over, and then go logs some pulls.

I've never dealt with a Calum ECU before, but I'd be willing to give it a try if you have a laptop (with required programs) to tune it with.

I'm 400 miles (6 hours) away though.

If you tell me exactly what to download (free stuff) to work with the tune, and send me your tune, I can take a look at it ad see if anything obvious sticks out in the timing or fuel maps. I can also compare the timing map to other turbo SR20 maps and see if something can't be done better.

your in the service i assume. im located in ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND MD. it would be all game if you got stationed here. Theres a couple other members that will be moving up this way with a whole lot of knowlage thats going to make MD the place to be at. we take care of each other for the most part. but yes do a once over and check for anything obviouse. im still having my pwn problems right now with some smoking issues..but you have to fix that 206hp cause im running a t28 with 370 and i making a whole lot more then that

OK. I double checked EVERYTHING today. Found a couple small boost leaks.(fixed them) And while i was looking at everything in the bay i saw that the distibutor was clocked way too far. Just by looking at the gap of the hole on each side of the bolt. I adjusted this to what i thought was 15 base, but i guess being that i have s4's and the car doesnt want to idle below 1000 it was hard to adjust it.

Well i moved it to the middle and put a mark on it, and bam. I know, i know, im a noob. So im guessing i was knocking and the ecu did what is does. Good thing it was only for 3 pulls, because i set the timing (wrong) right before i drove to the dyno. 7lbs feels amazing now. I logged my runs and AFR looks good alittle rich up top but not too bad. Back to the dyno and turning up the boost this week.

It was really embarrassing when 204hp showed up first pull. The guy at the shop was like WTF. He was checking his machine.. it was pretty funny now that i know it was my fault. The car made 286whp on the last setup(444cc and cobra maf with JWT ecu on 10:1 pistons at 15lbs) I will be extremely happy with 300whp that is my goal with this setup. Anything more is just fine too.

I have some experience with the RT. I can't promise you any big numbers, but could do a look over at your tune.

But I can guarantee you that if you are running any tune that Calum Sent you, then it's going to be more then just fine as a base map. It has to be something mechanical on your car.

You must not have read the post before yours...

It was my base timing being way off. I am going back to the dyno tonight. I will post results.
