Thread: Meet location poll

Choose one, or leave a suggestion. Since we can't seem to decid just by talking about it...we'll lets the votes decide.

Personally, I'm voting for Alpha Ridge. Just because I like that park, I know where it is...and the have that HUGE grill there. But I'm honestly down for wherever...let's just pick something.

Which one is free?

Alpha Ridge CAN be free...but if someone has it rented, we'll be kicked out. It's $155 to rent it for the day. If someone's going to do it (I can't afford it twice in one year...sorry) you should reserve it SOON.

ok so there's a park in the harford county area that's fairly easy to get to from 95. It's called Hickory Park. I just called to check it out and they do not allow reservations, so there is no fee for use, it is strictly first come first serve. Its a 20acre plot with sport fields and plenty of parking in addition to a single pavilon with 10 or so table and a grille or two. It also has bathrooms, but not sure if they're unlocked or anything.

Here's the catch, talking to the lady on the phone she claims they are not allowed to rent it out due to how often it is used for Rec-sport use, but it is a public park so they can't really stop anyone from using it and since it does not have a rental/reservation policy it is first come first serve. I live in the area, so I could easily secure it early in the morning,plus we're friendly enough Im sure we could share what portions we dont use.

I drove past it this weekend and it was empty on sunday around 1215pm. This is my suggestion and I think Jensen and I are itching to host a meet.

one warning though, within a mile or so of the park is a county building which gets a lot of cop traffic and the speed limit approaching the park is 35/45 I think, so no tom foolery on approach and such. There are a lot of fun roads around the park too.

I like that idea Les. Sounds like a cool place. I also like Alpha Ridge...but no one seems to want to step up and pay for the rental. So if Hickory is free...I like it.

Come on guys...the 6th is only a week and a half away(ish).

actually as of yesterday it was two weeks away. I can handle the setup of Hickory if everyone else agrees to it. I'll try to scout it out again this weekend and see if there is anything else going on sunday, I found a calendar of park events and nothing was listed, seems like everything is mid through september due to school organizing I suppose.
