I know the stock piston will do fine, that's why i am going to initially use it, or i might not change it, not sure yet

because keo, I will be going with the bigger turbo set-up during my christmas semester break, the ultimate goal is 505whp to 575whp by next spring
but for now 400hp is something I can deal with and is something I'm limited to anyways, wll actually more like 350 with the cobra maf

indestructable
actually, I just like the feeling of knowing that I have a strong motor, not a DE jacked up with boost

I dont get it, you know why i am doing this, you most certainly know that after I blew up the first DET, that I said I was going to build something good

If the car is not being driven, why not build the motor nice this time, instead of just throwing something back in as a quick fix, that's stupid to me.

Remember kids; this is not another DET, this is a DE bottom end that I'm using, the parts car, bottom end from the shop

@keo

when is the stock DET piston @ it's limit? that's the thing i've been wondering, but jensen knows nothing

I figured 400hp and the DET piston was still good, but it's guarantedd that this set-up will only entertain me until january. at how much hp should I go with cp, weisco, etc...?

yes 450 can be had with the stock DET, but i have DE, what part aren't we understanding....
how about you do a search and compare a DE and a DET rod
next if this won't be my final turbo set-up, then yes my build IS IN FACT planning for the future

I know I didnt NEED to, but I WANTED to, HUGE DIFFERENCE

i dont see oil squirters listed, or ve oil pump

didnt a stock de bottom end make low 400s? and a det bottom end made low 500s?

yeah, i even think tekkie made over 400 on his de+t
but this is my set-up, so I am building how I see fit

my thing is, how long, with daily abuse did those bottom ends withstand 400hp and 500hp? I drive like I stole my car

I dont think the oil squirters are necessary, but I do have them, I've been looking for a write-up on the 240 forums that I saw a while back on how to use them, I think it involves some drilling/tapping

VE oil pump? probably not now, but it will be an upgrade later.

I will use my DET oil cooler though

Tekkie has a built det bottom end with a lowport head. I don't see anything wrong with using upgraded pistons and rods. If you have the time and money its not a big deal. Half of these people just slap in a det without even changing the bearins and they go oo **** I spun a bearing I wonder why. Because the little asian lady that was driving her kids to kung fu class didn't know how to maintain her avenir station wagon ****. I will always use built stuff because of the piece of mind it brings me I won't make more power I will just be able to to do higher boost without going o no stock bottom end better take it easy.

Yeah, that's tekkie's new motor, he used to have a de+t (i thought he made that much power BEFORE he went with the DET block)

I have the time and the money, so I agree with u morgans, that's why I am doing this. I bought a DET motor, and slapped it right in, never changed a headgasket nor a rod bearing, and I blew that bitch up in april. a hole through the front and back of the block.

EXACTLY like you said, "piece of mind", this set-up is for now, I like the ability to just slap on a bigger turbo and crank up the boost, knowing i have a built motor and not a stock one.
