Thread: Moving to VA

heya guys I just got my " 1st outta college job" so I will be relocating to Virgina Beach, VA......how many VA guys are here on this forum?..also I've never been to Virgina or Virginia Beach is there such a thing as a ghetto community near Virgina Beach?

VA Beach isn't too bad, Norfolk has a lot more of the "Ghetto" areas. But honestly you'll be dissappointed anyway moving from FL to VA.

but VA beach is regulated up the arse, at the beach area, can cruise on the same street more than 1 and hour ( i think), no load music, no thongs, and they flood alot!

Don't speed in VA and get caught. Tickets are crazy up here and yes, they will throw you in jail and make you serve time for excessive speeding. I had a friend who got pegg'd doing around 100 late one night on the highway and was shocked to find he had to serve 10 days in jail. Lucky for him, that was before the new laws were around... now he'd probably wind up paying 4 or 5 thousand in fines before it was all done. FL is much more sane when it comes to enforcement of those laws.

They don't do jail time or fines anymore down here for speeding.
If you're caught doing 100 mph or more, the new approach is to pull you over and then shoot you in the head on the side of the road.
The Va gov't did a study and found it to be much more humane to the speeder.

I just recently moved to va beach from miami.

The streets are not the same up here. On US 95 in Miami i think everyone thought the 95 was the speed limit. Up here your lucky if they go 5 over in the fast lane.

VA beach isn't too bad. Try to find a place to live closer inland. It's nice down there and there's a lot of good places to eat. Some cops in VA will give you a break if you don't act like a prick. I'm from central VA and I don't think it's too bad.
