Thread: i want a profesional car detail

i want my paint to look perminently wet and so deep you fall into it. its a silver mazda3 hatch and i have had waxed it before and tried to polish the paint but it never works out lol ( because i used a crappy random orbital)

i also have a buddy with a black legacy GT that would likely be intrested as well depending on price (hes a cheap bastard........dont be fooled by the car he owns lol) we both live in zip code 21001 but im am willing to drive a bit.

how far and ow much $$ you looking to spend?

preferibly no more than $200. i am currently chatting on "autopia.org" about paint detailing and so far i have found out that silver is a rather hard color to get a super deep look to it. so i may end up buying my own supplies to do this.

im looking at a random orbital of un known brand at the moment.

I love that deep look. It's amazing how thick you can actually make paint look. I've seen silver cars get a pretty damn good shine on them...just have to know the right people. When I worked at R&H Toyota, the R&H Mercades (right next door) had a detail shop, and those guys could shine the **** out of a silver Merc.

I prof. detail on the side. i would possibly consider blazing yer mazda up 4 ya.

There is a place right up the street from me called Ideal Image. They do a good job. There are always Benzs,Ferraris,lambos and stuff like that out front.

I am goin to a shop called autospa in towson, heard they do a good job, im getting it done tomm i'll let you know... isnt too bad if your just doin exterior

if the paints in good condition wich it should be its a new car do it your self.

wash the car.
plastic polish the head lights and tail lights
clay bar the car.
wash the car.
dry the car.
turtle liquid wax the car.
turtle liquid wax the headlights and tail lights.
do the tires and rims etc...

for the interior.
vaccum.
get a rag and put some soap and water on it.
clean every bit of plastic on the interior.
let dry.
then go over with interior wipes or shine stuff.
let it sit for 10 mins.
go over it with a soft cloth.

save your self 200 bucks.

To get a really deep wet look is half the battle, first you have to train yourself on how to "properly wash your car" to minimize scratches and swirl marks; using automatic car wash and those brushes at manual car wash is a big no no, i do not care how dirty your car is, you will do more harm that good. Second, you will have to prep your car, start with a good clay bar and clay bar liquid ( I use Optimum ONR, i also use it as a quick detailer) to remove all surface contaminants and it will give your car surface a smooth finish, i used clay bar after washing my car and i was amazed of how dirty the paint surface was. Third, the products you listed above will work but why are you using two different polishes and sealants? You are doing more work than it's needed, so start at the beginning and get your car surface clean, be prepared to spend at least 2 full days on your car to achieve the results you desire.
