Thread: WTT 93 G20 trans for a 94 G20 trans...urgent!

I made the mistake of getting a transmission without knowing exactly what I had, and now I need a transmission for a 1994 G20 without manual kickdown. I have a transmission with manual kickdown right now, so if anyone else out there got the wrong one and wants to trade, that would be beneficial to both parties, or worst case if anyone has one for sale please let me know ASAP.

im sorry this might be a dumb question but what is manual kickdown

it is a little cable attached to the throttle that kicks it down a gear when you floor it. The trans I got has that, and I need one with electrical (solenoid controlled) kickdown

=p An automatic must stay in a gear, it cannot float. . This unit is made as AOD & AOD-E "E" means simply ELECTRONIC (for some) kick down feature is a simple device that down-shifts the transmission as you slow the car down, keeping it in a gear is for a variation of reason, can expound later.

Older units manually down shift or 'kick-down' newer units do this down shift or 'kick-down' of the gears electronically by means of a transmission ECU. Most newer cars that are automatics have both an engine computer & a transmission computer. The transmission computer controls all aspects of the transmission much like the engine computer controls the engine.
