I got the first batch with issues corrected. Can't do alot with it since I sent my gears to them for measurement

@MFactory does these require shimming? Per the FMS you can shim the original ones but these are built differently.

LOL. I just don't see it but I can be wrong

When changing differential, you must set/check the backlash on it, which means checking the shims. All transmission housings are different, so the only way to tell whether you need to change shims or not is to measure the backlash when installing the LSD.

The shim im talking about is in between the LSD. You can only see it after the FD is split and diff is separated

Isn't that the shim that sets the preload on the spider gears that helps determine the degree of lockup the VLSD has but shouldn't matter once we turn it into a HLSD, at least that what i'm thinking, I believe that shim is totally something else with respect to shimming the differential unit to align the contact/tooth engagement between the ring gear and pinion

Its a bit more clean now. Thanks Charlie.
@MFactory do I exclude the shim that goes between the 2 halves of the diff?

I need to check with the testers to see if they used the shim or not. You can try it with and without the shim to see if it makes a difference in regards to clearance.

Here's a picture REF. I'm guessing if it was developed without the shim I would put it back just to make up space? Can you ask your R&D?
